Søren Wandahl, Senior Associate Professor, PhD, MSc.ENG is Head of Civil and Architectural Engineering section at Department of Engineering at Aarhus University in Denmark. Here he is responsible for all research, industry and teaching activities in the Built Environment domain. This includes managing 7 highly skilled research groups and 6 state of the art laboratories, and a MSc program in Engineering. Besides this, Søren is also the Head of the PhD program in Engineering counting 60 PhD-students. Since 2014 Søren has been appointed as EU expert assessing FP7 and Horizon 2020 applications and project progress.
His research focus is construction management, more specific optimization of construction processes by combined technical, organizational and social methods. Søren holds specific competencies within:

- The Clients brief
- Planning and scheduling
- Energy efficient construction management
- Integrated Project Delivery, Alliancing and Partnering
- Open and user-driven innovation
The publication record count more than 80 journal papers, conference proceedings and book contributions.
Søren has supervised more than 30 Master thesis, 3 phd project and numerous minor projects. He has also been in the assessment committee of 8 PhD projects. In total, Søren has more than 10 years of experience in teaching at university level in the following areas: Project Management, Management Accounting, Logistics, Risk Management, Lean Construction, Construction processes, Value in building, etc.
